2.0 Litre Container
3 cups (720 ml) Earl Grey black tea, brewed, chilled
½ cup (70 g) raw almonds
1 slice (6 g) fresh ginger root, about 1"
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 cup (150 g) chilled, roasted beets, about 1 medium beet
1 cup (150 g) chilled, roasted beets, about 1 medium beet
A Vitamix has the power to pulverize even the toughest roots. Raw or cooked, it can take a beet and turn it into a delicious whole-food drink, encompassing fresh ingredients and spices to create a unique drinking beverage.
Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure the lid. Start the blender on its lowest speed, then quickly increase to its highest speed. Blend for 5 minutes 45 seconds, or select the Hot Soup program and allow the machine to complete the programmed cycle.
Chef's Notes
For a deeper purple color in this beverage, use red beets, or for a more neutral color, use golden beets. Earl Grey's earthiness goes very well with the flavor of beets, but other liquids may be used if desired.
