Your Vitamix blender is the kitchen blender of dreams but did you know that you can make your own homemade flour in your Vitamix blender? From your popular wholegrain and oat flours to your less common black bean and chickpea flour your Vitamix blender can turn your pulses, grains and nuts into fine flour in a matter of minutes.
Here’s how to make a selection of our favourite flours to make in your Vitamix blender ready for your next homemade bake, whether it be delicious autumnal pumpkin muffins or the perfect breakfast oat flour waffles…
1. Place oats into the Vitamix container and secure the lid Select Variable 1.
2. Start the machine and increase to its highest speed. Blend for 25-30 seconds or until desired consistency. Store in an airtight container until ready to use.
All purpose gluten free flour:
1. Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container and secure the lid.
2. Start the blender on its lowest speed and increase to its highest speed.
3. Blend for 15 seconds or until ingredients are incorporated.
Blackbean flour:
1. Place black beans into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure the lid.
2. Start the blender on its lowest speed, then quickly increase to its highest speed. Blend for 60 seconds, using the tamper as needed to press ingredients toward the blades.
Almond flour:
1. Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure the lid.
2. Start the blender on its lowest speed, then quickly increase to its highest speed. Blend for 5-7 seconds.
3. Remove the lid and scrape the sides of the container with a spatula. Repeat the same process until desired consistency is achieved.
Chickpea flour:
1. Place dried chickpea beans into the Vitamix container and secure the lid.
2. Start the blender on its lowest speed and quickly increase to its highest speed. Blend for 45 seconds to 1 minute. Remove chickpea flour from container and store in an airtight container.
